Brookline: Most Popular Neighborhoods

 

 

 

    Hi! in my very first post I’ll walk you through Brookline most popular neighborhoods, things to do, and visit.  If you are looking for a place to raise your family that combines the best of urban and suburban living, you might want to consider Brookline, Massachusetts.

This town of about 60,000 people borders Boston and Cambridge, offering easy access to the cultural, educational, and professional opportunities of these cities. But Brookline is also a town with its own distinct identity, history, and charm where you can find spacious homes, green spaces, and a strong sense of community.

Brookline has many neighborhoods to choose from, each with its own character and amenities.

Brookline most popular neighborhoods for families are:

    •    Coolidge Corner: The heart of Brookline, where you can find a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment options. Home to the iconic Coolidge Corner Theatre, an art deco cinema that shows independent and classic films, as well as the Brookline Booksmith, a Beloved independent bookstore. Coolidge Corner also has a public library, a playground, and a farmer’s market.

    •    Washington Square: A lively neighborhood with a mix of old and new. Washington Square has many historic buildings and landmarks, such as the S.S. Pierce Building and the Washington Square Clock Tower. A vibrant dining scene, with cuisines ranging from Italian to Thai to Middle Eastern. Washington Square has several parks and playgrounds, as well as a dog park for your furry friends.

    •    Brookline Village: This is the oldest neighborhood in Brookline, where you can find traces of the town’s colonial past. Brookline Village has a quaint and cozy feel, with brick sidewalks, antique shops, and local businesses. It also has the Brookline Town Hall, the Brookline Historical Society, and the Larz Anderson Park, which has a museum, a skating rink, and a pond.

    •    Chestnut Hill: This is one of the most affluent and exclusive neighborhoods in Brookline. Where you can find some of the most elegant and spacious homes in town. Chestnut Hill is known for its beautiful architecture and landscaping. As well as its prestigious institutions, such as Boston College and The Country Club. Chestnut Hill also has several shopping centers, such as The Street and The Shops at Chestnut Hill.

And if that is not enough…

Brookline is great place to live, but also a fantastic place to learn with one of the best public school systems in the state. Nine elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. All of them offer a rigorous curriculum that emphasizes academic excellence, creativity, diversity, and social responsibility.

Brookline also has several private schools such as The Park School, The Dexter Southfield School, and The Maimonides School. It also has 50 parks that cover more than 500 acres of land, where you can enjoy nature, sports, recreation, and relaxation.

Brookline most popular parks are:

  •          Larz Anderson Park: This is the largest park in Brookline with 64 acres of land. It has a vintage automobile museum, a skating rink, a fishing and boating pond, and several picnic areas and playgrounds.
  •        Brookline Reservoir Park: This is a scenic park that surrounds a 32-acre reservoir. It has a 1.6-mile walking path by the water and wildlife, benches, and fitness stations along the way.
  •       Amory Park: This is a park that offers something for everyone. It has six tennis courts, two baseball fields, a basketball court, a playground, and a community garden. It also hosts concerts and events in the summer.

Brookline has it all: urban convenience, suburban comfort, natural beauty, cultural diversity, educational excellence, and community spirit.
